Trump Renews Direct Threats Against Iran with “Bye Bye Kharg” Message

ARK News.. U.S. President Donald Trump has renewed his direct threats against Iran, appearing to warn of a possible attack on Kharg Island, a strategically vital hub for Iran’s oil exports in the Gulf.

Trump posted a brief message on his Truth Social account reading “Bye bye, Kharg,” accompanied by an image depicting a large explosion and flames engulfing the island, with a warplane shown carrying out an airstrike. Recent reports described the image as portraying a possible attack on Kharg Island.

Trump also highlighted Iran’s worsening economic conditions, pointing to severe inflation, the collapse of the Iranian currency, and a sharp decline in the country’s oil exports. He also said oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz had returned to previous levels.

The latest message came amid a renewed escalation between Washington and Tehran. On September 5, U.S. Central Command said U.S. forces had struck three Iranian oil tankers, including one off the coast of Kharg Island, after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched ballistic missiles at two U.S. Navy vessels.

Kharg Island holds exceptional strategic importance for Iran because it hosts the country’s main crude oil export terminal and normally handles the vast majority of Iranian oil shipments. Reports have estimated that the island accounts for around 90% of Iran’s crude exports.

Any direct attack on the island’s oil infrastructure could therefore have major consequences for Iran’s economy and global energy markets. The island has become a focal point in the escalating U.S.-Iran confrontation, particularly amid disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
