Announcing the launch of the Peace and Spring Marathon in Afrin

ARK News… In the presence of Dr. Abdel Hakim Bachar and Abdul Majeed Barakat, vice-presidents of the Syrian National Coalition, and member of the political body Abdullah Kado, the Peace and Spring Marathon was announced in the city of Afrin in Syrian Kurdistan.

In the city of Afrin, Syrian Kurdistan, the organizing committee of the Peace and Spring Marathon, on Thursday, 25/4/2024, held a press conference to announce the Peace and Spring Marathon in the city of Afrin, and to talk about the identity of the race and the participating and supporting entities, in addition to the organizational rules, arbitration, and safety and security procedures.

This marathon, in its current session, was called “Major General Muhammad al-Fares’ Course” in honor of him for his role and immortal stances in the Syrian revolution.

The marathon will start with the participation of about 200 competitors from different age groups, on April 27, and includes one 10 km race to suit all members of society of different ages and fitness levels, in exchange for financial prizes that will be received by the winners of the first three places.

The press conference was attended by Muhammad Rashid, Vice President of the Local Council of Afrin, in addition to a group of influential athletes in Syrian sports, representatives of the Syrian Women’s Authority, and representatives of a number of youth and community federations and associations.
