Israeli Army Launches Airstrikes on Southern Lebanon

Sep 06 2026

ARK News.. The Israeli army announced on Sunday, September 6, 2026, that it had begun carrying out airstrikes in southern Lebanon in response to what it said was the launch of two explosive drones by Hezbollah toward Israeli troops operating in the area Israel has designated as a “security zone.”

In a statement, the Israeli army said that “terrorists from the Hezbollah organization launched two explosive drones toward IDF forces operating in the security zone in southern Lebanon.”

The Israeli military said there were no casualties among its forces and that it had launched strikes against targets in southern Lebanon in response to the drone attack.

In a separate statement, the Israeli army warned residents of a building in the southern Lebanese town of Arab Salim, as well as nearby buildings, to evacuate ahead of an attack. It said the buildings were located near a facility belonging to Hezbollah.

The strikes subsequently hit several areas in southern Lebanon. Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that at least four people were killed and 20 others wounded, including in Arab Salim and Nabatiye al-Foqa.

The latest escalation comes amid continued tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border despite a ceasefire and ongoing U.S.-mediated efforts to reduce hostilities and address Hezbollah’s military presence in southern Lebanon.
