Lavrov: Russia, Iran, and Turkey are doing their best to work independently of Syria's Constitutional Committee
ARK News: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that the Astana trilogy - Russia, Iran, and Turkey - will hinder attempts to interfere in the work of the Syrian Constitutional Committee, and Moscow hopes for the integrity of the United Nations.
Lavrov said at the 16th annual meeting of the Valdai Club in Sochi: "We have a very difficult job ahead, more complicated than before (after the formation of the Constitutional Committee of the Syrian Republic). Now, at the same table, the opposition and the regime, with the participation of a civil society delegation, will have to agree on constitutional reform, which should be the basis of the upcoming elections in Syria. ”
"Russian Foreign Minister added: “In this case, all the cards will be on the table, and I hope the United Nations will facilitate this process in an impartial manner. The Astana trilogy (Russia, Iran, and Turkey) will not be left aside, and we will do everything until the Syrians agree without any outside interference”.
