ARK News… The head of the Syrian National Coalition, Hadi Al-Bahra, met with the Dutch Ambassador, Keich Kerlach, and the Dutch special advisor for the Syrian file, Leonard Hegerberg, and discussed with them the latest developments in the political process and ways to take serious steps in the file of accountability and accountability for war criminals.
The meeting took place yesterday, Wednesday, November 29, at the coalition headquarters, in the presence of Vice-Presidents Abdel Majeed Barakat and Dima Moussa, and the coordinator of the Foreign Relations Department, Abdel Ahad Estifo.
The coalition's media department said that Al-Bahra "talked about the latest developments in the political situation in the Syrian file and its impact on the current regional and international files, and stressed that the crisis management policies followed by the international community, instead of playing an active role in finding sustainable solutions, have led to an increase in people's suffering."
He also stressed "the need for the United Nations to regain its active role in the political process regarding Syria, in accordance with the mandate granted to it in Security Council Resolution No. 2254."
He called for "returning the Syrian file to the list of priorities, and taking serious action to activate the political process and implement international resolutions on the Syrian issue, most notably Resolutions 2118 and 2254."
For its part, the delegation affirmed the Netherlands’ full support for the implementation of Security Council Resolution No. 2254, its insistence on following up the file of accountability and achieving justice in Syria, and its follow-up of the course of the case it filed with Canada at the International Court of Justice against the regime in Syria for violating the Convention against Torture, and supporting the efforts of the international envoy. Special, to implement international resolutions related to Syria.
