Statement by President Barzani on the 44th anniversary of the genocide of the Faili Kurds
ARK News… President Masoud Barzani, Today, Thursday, April 4, 2024, issued a statement on the forty-fourth anniversary of the genocide of the Faili Kurds.
Below is the text of the statement:
The Faili Kurdish sisters and brothers in the Iraqi state suffered many tragedies and the suffering of displacement, and their only crime was supporting the revolution and the Kurdish liberation movement.
The withdrawal of citizenship from hundreds of thousands of Faili Kurdish brothers and sisters and the disappearance of thousands of Faili youth at the hands of the former Iraqi regime was a major crime and persecution, and part of a series of organized crimes committed by the former Iraqi regime in order to destroy the Kurdish people.
The Iraqi government must do its duty to return Iraqi property, money, and citizenship, and compensate and eliminate the consequences of the genocide against the Faili Kurds.
On the forty-fourth anniversary of the genocide of the Faili Kurds, salute to the pure souls of the martyrs of the Faili Kurds, and all the martyrs of freedom in Kurdistan. The role and loyalty of the Faili sisters and brothers towards the Kurdish cause and the Kurdish liberation movements will never be forgotten.
