Nechirvan Barzani allocates one billion dinars to Erbil flood victims

ARK News… The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, decided on Friday, December 17, 202, to allocate one billion dinars to those affected by the floods that swept Erbil two days ago, and disbursed it through the Rawanga Foundation.

The Rawanga Foundation announced that the aid that is provided by the decision of the President of the Region, will be distributed by the Rawanga Foundation and in coordination with the Erbil Governorate and the Barzani Charitable Foundation.

This aid includes allocating one billion dinars to those affected, and it is spent in three sections: providing household supplies and needs, distributing three meals to all affected families, in addition to immediate relief to remove the remnants of the floods, and rehabilitate homes, buildings and streets. It is scheduled to start the distribution of aid from Saturday.

DAys ago, Erbil witnessed torrential floods that killed at least 12 people, including a number of foreigners, in addition to damaging hundreds of homes and cars, and causing great material losses.

The President of the Kurdistan Region called the Governor of Erbil, Omid Khoshnaw, for the purpose of following up on the conditions of the areas of Erbil Governorate, which were hit at dawn days ago by floods. Saving the lives of citizens and doing all that is necessary to rescue and assist the victims as soon as possible, and for hospitals to be at the highest level of readiness to receive and treat the victims.
