Trump Signals Possible Strike on Iran’s “Mount Fas” Nuclear Facility

US President Donald Trump renewed his direct military threats against Iran, warning Tehran against trying to “outsmart” the United States and, for the first time, signaling the possibility of striking the heavily fortified underground “Mount Fas” nuclear facility located near the Natanz complex.

During remarks at a Republican campaign rally ahead of the midterm elections, US President Donald Trump said: “We know very well and precisely what is going on there. We recently detected limited activity inside Iran’s Mount Fash site, and we may have to strike them at that site as well.”

Trump added: “I advise Iran not to try to outsmart us or maneuver, otherwise we will be forced to launch devastating and extremely harsh strikes against it.”

The facility is located about 225 kilometers south of the capital Tehran and directly south of the Natanz uranium enrichment complex. It is considered one of the most fortified military and nuclear facilities in the world. Expert reports indicate that it was excavated at a depth of between 80 and 100 meters into solid granite mountain rock and contains two extensive networks of tunnels protected by blast-resistant steel gates.

Iran began constructing the complex in late 2020, following a series of sabotage operations targeting centrifuge assembly halls at Natanz that were attributed to Israel. Intelligence assessments suggest that Tehran is using the isolated tunnels to operate advanced centrifuges or increase uranium enrichment levels beyond the reach of airstrikes.
