Al-Shaibani and Safadi Discuss Developments in Southern Syria and Regional Stability
Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed developments in southern Syria and ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, that the two sides discussed the implementation of the trilateral roadmap agreed upon by Syria, Jordan, and the United States concerning Suwayda Governorate.
The talks also addressed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation across various fields, in addition to preparations for the third session of the Higher Coordination Council between Syria and Jordan, which is scheduled to be held in Damascus next October.
On June 14, al-Shaibani received a Jordanian ministerial delegation headed by Safadi in Damascus. The two sides discussed developments in the region and issues of mutual interest.
