JD Vance: Members of the Israeli Government Sought to Influence the U.S. Over Iran Deal
ARK News.. U.S. Vice President JD Vance revealed that several members of the Israeli government attempted to influence American public opinion in an effort to build opposition to a U.S.-brokered agreement that ended the war with Iran, during an episode of a podcast with host Joe Rogan.
Vance said, "I know for a fact that there were people inside the Israeli government who were actively trying to steer us away from this policy because they wanted the military campaign to continue."
The U.S. vice president defended the agreement reached last month to end the war with Iran, despite criticism in both the United States and Israel over its failure to curb Iran's missile program or provide a clear path toward dismantling its nuclear facilities. Critics also argued that the agreement-imposed constraints on Israel's military campaign against Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon.
Vance added that he has "good relationships" with some members of the Israeli government, but said that "there are people within its institutions whom we know for certain are trying to manipulate and influence American public opinion in order to keep the war going indefinitely."
