Rome hosts renewed Lebanon-Israel talks

Jul 14 2026

ARK News.. Lebanon and Israel resumed indirect talks in Rome on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, with Beirut hoping to make progress toward securing an Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon, despite limited expectations of a rapid breakthrough.

According to Reuters, the negotiations are taking place under U.S. mediation and focus on implementing understandings aimed at reducing tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border.

The renewed talks follow a meeting held in Washington on June 26, which resulted in an agreement calling for an end to the conflict in Lebanon, the disarmament of armed groups—an apparent reference to Hezbollah—the deployment of Lebanese forces in the south, and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops.
