Kurdistan Region Counter-Terrorism Directorate: Eight explosive drones shot down over Erbil

ARK News.. The Kurdistan Region Counter-Terrorism Directorate (CTD) announced on Wednesday evening, July 15, 2026, that Coalition forces intercepted and destroyed eight explosive-laden drones over the skies of Erbil, with no casualties reported.

In an official statement, the CTD said the aerial attack was successfully countered within 27 minutes, specifically between 8:53 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. local time.

The directorate confirmed that the Coalition's air defense systems successfully intercepted and shot down all eight drones before they could reach their intended targets.
