Syrian Energy Ministry announces progress on Alok Water Station rehabilitation
ARK News.. Rehabilitation and maintenance work are continuing at the Alok Water Station in Sari Kaniye, with the facility expected to enter the trial pumping phase in the coming days as part of efforts to restore its operational capacity after several months of repairs.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, the Syrian Ministry of Energy said technical teams are carrying out maintenance on various components of the station, including the rehabilitation of several wells and horizontal pumps, with the aim of improving operational efficiency and increasing the station's production capacity.
The ministry added that the Hasaka General Establishment for Drinking Water and Sanitation continues to oversee maintenance and rehabilitation work across its facilities to improve public services and ensure the sustainable delivery of water to residents.
The Ministry of Energy praised the efforts of the technical teams at the Hasaka Water Company to restore the Alok Water Station to service as soon as possible, noting that its reopening will represent a significant step toward strengthening water security and improving drinking water services across the governorate.
The Alok Water Station is one of the region's most vital water facilities, supplying drinking water to Hasaka city and its countryside, as well as Til Tamer, its surrounding areas, and al-Hol, serving an estimated 500,000 residents.
