796 People Injured by Explosions of War Remnants in Syria

A Syrian human rights source reported that two people were injured by explosions caused by war remnants in the provinces of Deir Ez-Zour and Idlib.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that a construction vehicle driver (bulldozer) was injured after a landmine from war remnants exploded on the outskirts of the town of Ayyash, west of Deir Ez-Zour, in areas under the control of the interim government, while he was working in the area.

In a similar incident, a young man was injured by the explosion of a landmine left over from the war in the village of al-Qassabiya in the Idlib countryside, the source added.

SOHR stated that it has documented 796 people injured, including 357 children and 23 women, as a result of explosions caused by mines, unexploded ordnance, and other war remnants across Syria, from the fall of the former regime on December 8, 2024, until December 30, 2025.

According to SOHR, the injuries were distributed as follows:

Areas under Damascus government control:
600 injured, including 257 children and 13 women.

Areas under PYD administration:
76 injured, including 52 children and 2 women.

Areas controlled by the “Syrian National Army”:
120 injured, including 48 children and 8 women.
