Qatar Suspends Maritime Navigation Until Further Notice
ARK News.. Qatar has threatened to respond to the recent Iranian attacks and ordered the suspension of maritime navigation until further notice.
In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the renewed Iranian attacks on Qatari territory and a number of neighboring countries.
The ministry added, "We reserve our full right to respond in accordance with international law and the Charter of the United Nations and to take all necessary measures to safeguard our sovereignty and security."
It also stressed the need for "an immediate and complete cessation of military operations and attacks that threaten the security and stability of the region."
Separately, Qatar's Ministry of Transport called on owners and operators of maritime vessels to temporarily suspend all sailing activities until further notice.
Earlier on Sunday, July 12, 2026, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Army announced that they had launched missile and drone strikes targeting a number of U.S. interests and military bases in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, and Oman.
