Dozens Killed and Injured by Explosions of War Remnants Across Syria
ARK News.. A Syrian human rights source reported that dozens of civilians have been killed or injured as a result of explosions caused by landmines and unexploded ordnance left behind by the war in various parts of Syria.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Sunday, December 28, 2025, that it documented the deaths of 13 civilians during December due to explosions of mines and explosive remnants of war across different regions of the country. The victims included nine children and one woman, while 20 others were injured, among them nine children.
According to the Observatory, the incidents were recorded in areas under the control of the transitional government, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and the Syrian National Army, as follows:
Transitional government-controlled areas: Eleven people were killed, including eight children and one woman, and 15 others were injured, among them five children.
SDF-controlled areas: Four people were injured, including three children.
Syrian National Army-controlled areas: One child was killed, while his father sustained injuries.
The Observatory warned that landmines and unexploded ordnance continue to pose a serious threat to civilians, particularly children, amid ongoing humanitarian and security challenges across Syria.
