Ongoing Threat
War remnants remain a daily nightmare for civilians across Syria. Landmines and unexploded ordnance continue to inflict repeated tragedies, particularly among vulnerable groups such as children, farmers, and shepherds, who are often compelled by harsh living conditions to move through contaminated areas.
Despite the end of active battles in some regions, these remnants persist in unpredictable ways that are difficult to control. Each new civilian casualty renews both local and international calls to intensify efforts to protect future generations from this deadly legacy of war.
