ARK News… In a meeting with the United Nations Special Envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, a delegation from the Syrian National Coalition stressed the danger of the absence of serious international pressure to begin a political process that contributes to the implementation of Resolution 2254.
On the sidelines of the Doha Forum in its 21st session, Badr Jamous, Chairman of the Syrian Negotiating Committee, and Hadi Al-Bahra, Chairman of the opposition Syrian National Coalition, discussed with the United Nations Special Envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, “the necessity of reactivating the political process to save the deteriorating situation in Syria.”
Jamous said that during the meeting, the seriousness of the absence of serious international pressure to begin a political process that would contribute to the full implementation of Resolution 2254 to put an end to the deterioration of the humanitarian and security conditions in Syria was emphasized.
He pointed out that he also discussed with the British Special Envoy to Syria, Mrs. Anne Snow, the latest developments in the political process in Syria and the danger of the situation remaining in Syria without any serious action by the efforts of the international community to advance the political process in accordance with Resolution 2254.
During the meeting, he stressed the importance of the United Kingdom's role in supporting the Syrian people and the political process to reach a political solution in Syria in a way that achieves the interest of the Syrian people in building a state of freedom, justice and law.
