SDF expresses its willingness to re-experience Afrin and Serê Kaniyê
ARK News... Once again, the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Kobani, vows to respond to Turkey in the event of any new military operation.
In conjunction with the Turkish threats to launch a new military operation, the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Kobani, on Friday, July 15, 2022, announced that the SDF accepted the reinforcement of the Syrian regime army points in Kobani in Syrian Kurdistan and Manbij, as well as border areas, to carry out his mission in protecting the Syrian borders, he said.
Mazloum Kobani said in a press conference followed by ARK: "We are against war, but if our areas are attacked, we are ready to fight it to protect our people."
He continued, "We are committed to the ceasefire agreements, and our forces withdrew to a depth of 30 km, and there are Russian and Turkish patrols, and regime forces are deployed."
Mazloum Kobani, the commander of the SDF, Aldar Khalil, the leader of the PYD, and Hussein Kochar, the military leader of the Syrian Democratic Forces, had made statements before now to the media, followed by ARK, in which they promised historical resistance if Turkey launched a military operation.
Mazloum Kobani said in a previous statement: The region will witness a historic resistance that is not the same as the one that took place in Afrin, and Hussein Kochar was not satisfied with that but claimed that his forces would liberate Afrin, Seri Kaniyê, and Girê Spî.
These statements come in conjunction with Turkish threats to carry out another military operation, to end the presence of the PKK, while the PYD administration continues to present arguments and pretexts to Turkey stating the presence of PKK in Syria.
Because of the arguments and pretexts presented by the PKK, Turkey conducted two military operations in Syrian Kurdistan in 2018-2019, during which it took control of the Afrin region and its seven towns and villages, in addition to the cities of Serê Kaniyê and Girê Spî, and the war caused the displacement of more than half a million people from the Afrin region and the two cities of Serê Kaniyê and Gire Spi.
Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin, on Tuesday, July 19, in Tehran at a summit that will address the Syrian file and include Russian-Turkish bilateral talks.
