ARK News… The Access Center for Human Rights announced the documentation of 1,027 cases of arbitrary detention of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, from the beginning of this year until the end of last month.

The center said: The Lebanese authorities “forcibly” deported 761 of the people they arrested, including civil activists, politicians, and dissidents. Some of them were subjected to “serious violations” by the security services in Syria.

It added that the Lebanese government did not adhere to the principle of non-refoulement of Syrian refugees, pointing out that it was still recording new cases of deportation.

The report added that the Lebanese government did not involve UNHCR in organizing the “voluntary return” operations that it launched more than a year ago. “To ensure verification of the voluntariness of return.”

The report also called for measures to protect refugees at risk of forced deportation. “Especially when there is a belief that the deportees will be subjected to arrest or torture.” He also called on the Commission to assume its responsibilities when the Lebanese government violates its commitment.

This came in a report, commenting on the announcement of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees about 10 days ago. Reach an agreement with the Lebanese government to share refugee data, and begin implementing it immediately.
