Manbij... A stifling fuel crisis and dozens of cars waiting in line
ARK News… The city of Manbij, which is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), is suffering from a severe fuel crisis, and the people are upset about the poor situation and the continuing crises.
Pictures on social media showed dozens of cars waiting in line to get their allocations from Umm Al-Qura gas station in Manbij.
In this regard, a special source told ARK, on Wednesday, October 30, 2023, that the people of the city are suffering from a fuel crisis, and are waiting long hours in queues at gas stations to obtain their fuel allocations, which has affected transportation and commercial and industrial activity.
The source added, the residents of Manbij and its countryside depend mainly on agriculture, especially the cultivation of grains, vegetables, and fruit trees, in addition to commercial businesses. Therefore, this crisis has harmed the people and pushed many of them to turn to the black market to meet their fuel needs.
Last September, the PYD administration raised the price of a liter of transport and industrial diesel from 525 to 2,050 Syrian pounds and the price of free diesel from 1,700 to 4,100. One liter is sold on the black market for about 5,000 Syrian pounds.
The cities of Syrian Kurdistan and the cities under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are suffering from a stifling fuel crisis that has negatively affected the daily lives of citizens.
