A detailed report with numbers and places on the relief of the Barzani Charity Foundation for Afrin
ARK News... The Barzani Charity Foundation published its report on humanitarian aid to those affected by the earthquake in Afrin, Syrian Kurdistan, from February 10 to March 10, 2023.
What did the Barzani Charity Foundation do? (Syria)
The first aid convoys arrived on 10-2-2023, consisting of 12 trucks equipped by the Barzani Charitable Foundation, inside the State of Syria, and this aid was the first international aid in all the world to reach the region.
The aid convoy crossed late in the evening, and it was carrying (drinking water, medicines, ready meals, clothes
and detergents)
On 11/2/2023, aid was distributed in the Jenderes area and the surrounding villages, and it was distributed to families in Afrin whose homes were destroyed due to the earthquake and who had to stay on the streets. In addition to the delivery of aid, hope returned to the people of Afrin, Jenderes, and other Syrian cities, and joy entered their hearts. The international media fell on Syria, and the doors of aid were opened to this region.
Reception of the people and the local reputation:
Late in the evening, aid convoys arrived inside the city of Afrin, and upon arrival, they were received by the people of the region standing in the streets. Hope returned to them 4 days after the earthquake disaster, and no international or foreign aid had reached them. They were living in difficult conditions, in dire need of international aid, and were waiting for relief and relief from their deep pain.
President Barzani asked about the conditions of the people of Afrin and Jenderes through a phone call with Mr. Musa Ahmed, the head of the Barzani Charity Foundation, and spoke with the residents of the city of Afrin, where they gathered to receive the relief team of the Barzani Charity Foundation, and asked for the help of all those affected by the earthquake in Afrin without discrimination.

Providing shelter for 1,400 families in 25 villages and towns.
Delivering aid to 75 villages and four districts and distributing it to the population.

Distributing 10,985 food baskets to the affected families, each basket consisting of 25 kilograms of foodstuffs. 25X10985 equals 274625 kilograms.
Distribution of 23,247 blankets and 2,414 mattresses.
Distributing 1,746 baskets for children under two years old, consisting of (milk, diapers, pajamas, and baby formula boxes).
1821 families received cleaning boxes consisting of (Tide, shampoo, soap, and other supplies).
Three trucks of supplies and medicines were delivered to a hospital and health centers.
56 international employees and 10 locals worked within the relief teams... each employee worked 448 hours... 66X448 equals 29568 working hours.
346 workers worked in the warehouse and distribution centers (job opportunities).
18 cars belonging to the Barzani Charity Foundation worked, and 86 freight cars were rented to distribute aid inside Afrin.
Health sector :
In the first convoy, a truck of medicines and medical supplies was prepared by the Health Directorate in Erbil, and on 11/2/2023 it arrived at the Afrin Health Directorate for distribution to public hospitals in the region.
On 15/2/2023, a medical team consisting of 15 cadres, with 5 ambulances loaded with medicines and medical supplies, began to roam as a mobile hospital inside Jenderes to see the sick and wounded, and so far, 7,247 patients have been treated.
On 17/2/2023, a truck loaded with medicines and medical supplies was provided to Afrin Hospital and Jandires, then they visited Afrin General Hospital to inspect the wounded.
On 3/3/2023, a truck loaded with medicines and medical supplies crossed the Bab Al-Salama border gate.
- Shelter
Because of the proximity of the Jenderes town of Afrin to the epicenter of the violent earthquake that occurred on February 6, 2023, most of the houses were destroyed, and what remained of them were unfit for living, as well as the villages that fell on this line beyond Jenderes, most of them were destroyed and people need shelter.
In the first convoy, 600 tents (6X4) were delivered to Afrin. Through a special team with the help of the Mukhtar of villages and regions, the houses were assessed as unfit for living, then the names of the families who needed a tent were registered and the tents were distributed to them.
On 17/2/2023, another convoy of tents arrived at the stores of the relief teams of the Barzani Charity Foundation in Afrin, and it consisted of 600 tents. According to the reports of the Research and Evaluation Committee and the Needs of Families, the tents were distributed to the residents of the villages.
In addition, financial assistance was provided to 200 families to secure shelter for themselves inside Syria.
In the shelter sector, as of March 10, 2023, 1,400 families benefited from providing shelter in 25 villages in the sub-district (Jenderes, Afrin, Sheikh Al-Hadid, and Mabata).
Food and non-food:
Water and food are among the basic needs of those affected after the rescue, and efforts have been intensified to make providing food an essential part of the relief operation.
During 30 days of work in 75 different areas, we were able to distribute dry foodstuffs to 10,985 families, and each family received 25 kilograms of food.
The total food distributed was 274.6 tons, consisting of (rice, bulgur, tomato paste, lentils, oil, canned food, dates, canned meat, legumes, tea, and milk).
Non-food:
In addition to the distribution of tents, the distribution of non-food aid has continued since the first day, and it consisted of (blankets, mattresses, and detergents).
Cleaning products consisted of: (shampoo, soap, tide, cream, bright...) and were distributed to 1821 families.
23,237 one- and two-person blankets were distributed along with 2,414 showers.
