Mahmoud Mohammed: The People Are the Primary Source of Legitimacy

ARK News.. The spokesperson for the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) called on all political parties and forces to intensify their efforts to overcome the current political deadlock while stressing the need to reactivate and restore the functioning of the Kurdistan Parliament as soon as possible.

Speaking on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, KDP spokesperson Mahmoud Mohammed stated that responsibility rests with all political parties and forces at this stage to work together seriously to break the state of stagnation affecting the political process in the Kurdistan Region.

Mohammed noted that all steps and efforts should be directed toward reactivating the Kurdistan Parliament at the earliest opportunity, enabling it to carry out and exercise its legal, constitutional, and national responsibilities.

The KDP spokesperson stressed that the will and aspirations of the people of Kurdistan must be respected in any political or administrative decision taken in the region, emphasizing that the people are the primary source of legitimacy.

Concluding his remarks, Mohammed said: “All parties must strive and work together to address and resolve all existing problems and disputes so that we can move forward toward a more stable and prosperous phase.”
