GCC: Iran Persists in a “Hostile” Policy That Undermines Regional Security and Stability
ARK News.. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has stated that the Iranian regime continues to pursue a “hostile” policy that undermines the security and stability of the region.
In a statement, the GCC said that the “continued aggression against Bahrain and Kuwait is an unacceptable hostile Iranian policy,” expressing its condemnation and denunciation of what it described as Iran’s ongoing aggression against the two countries.
Earlier on Wednesday, Kuwait condemned Iranian attacks targeting civilian facilities with ballistic missiles and drones in the early hours of the day. The Kuwaiti government stated that the attack on Kuwait International Airport resulted in one fatality, several injuries, and material damage to vital facilities and diplomatic missions.
In a statement, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the repeated attacks represent an unacceptable aggressive approach, emphasizing that Kuwait will not tolerate threats to its security and sovereignty and will respond to any threat targeting its territory or civilian infrastructure.
For its part, Qatar strongly condemned the Iranian attacks against civilian sites in Kuwait and Bahrain, including Kuwait International Airport, describing them as violations of the sovereignty of both countries and breaches of international law.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Doha’s full solidarity with Kuwait and Bahrain and its support for measures taken by both countries to safeguard their security and sovereignty. It also reaffirmed its rejection of attacks on civilian facilities and called for de-escalation to spare the region further tension and security repercussions.
Earlier on Wednesday, Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced the activation of an emergency plan at Kuwait International Airport following an attack on the passenger terminal by drones and missiles, which it attributed to what it described as “Iranian aggression.”
