Kurdistan Region President, Turkish Ambassador to Iraq Discuss Regional Developments

ARK News.. Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Anil Bora Inan, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Iraq, and his accompanying delegation on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed relations between Turkey, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, as well as the political situation in Iraq and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic and trade sectors. In this context, both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination to preserve security and stability.

The discussions also covered the political situation in the Kurdistan Region and ongoing efforts to overcome and resolve internal disputes. Both parties stressed the need for dialogue and mutual understanding between Erbil and Baghdad to address outstanding issues.

The peace process in Turkey, recent regional developments, and broader regional affairs constituted another key topic of the meeting. The two sides expressed a shared view on the importance of resolving disputes and differences through peaceful means and safeguarding security and stability throughout the region.
