After winning a second term, Macron warns of "difficult times ahead"
ARK News... French President Emmanuel Macron has admitted His dissatisfaction with his first presidential term, warning of "difficult times ahead".
"Many in this country voted for me not because they support my ideas, but to keep out the ideas of the extreme right," Macron said after winning the presidential election, Sunday evening. I want to thank them and know that I owe them a debt in the coming years.” He added, “I am aware that this vote places me under an obligation for the years to come.”
He continued, "The coming years will certainly be difficult, but they will be historic, and we will have to write them together for future generations." He said, "You have chosen a humanitarian, republican and environmental project based on work and creativity, a project to liberate our academic, cultural and entrepreneurial strengths."
“We will have to come forward with determination and ambition,” he added. We have a lot to do, and the war in Ukraine is there to remind us that we find ourselves in tragic times, through which France must find its way.”
Macron indicated that he intends to govern "in a respectful way aimed at the good." He continued, "Because our country is in great doubt and division, we must be strong, but no one will be ignored."
Referring to voters who backed his opponent, Macron said: "The anger and indignation that drove them to vote for that bill must also find a response. This will be my responsibility and those around me.” He concluded: "I am not a candidate for any camp anymore, but the president is for everyone."
