ARK News.. Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received a delegation from the Canada–Kurdistan Friendship Group in the Canadian Parliament on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. The delegation included Conservative Member of Parliament Ziad Abdullatif and Liberal Member of Parliament and former Minister of International Development, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Ahmed Hussein.

During the meeting, members of the delegation provided an overview of the activities and initiatives of their parliamentary friendship group, highlighting the objectives of their visit aimed at strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Canadian government. The delegation affirmed Canada's readiness to further enhance cooperation with the Kurdistan Region across various fields.

For his part, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani welcomed the delegation's visit and highly praised Canada's support and cooperation. He also reiterated the Kurdistan Region's commitment and continued aspiration to advance bilateral relations and expand avenues of partnership.
