Syrian Foreign Ministry Launches New E-Application for Consular Appointments
ARK News.. The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the launch of a new electronic application for booking consular appointments, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance services for Syrians living abroad.
According to Izzo al-Mohammad, Director of Information Systems and Digital Transformation at the Ministry, the new application replaces the previous platform developed under the former regime, which suffered from security and organizational loopholes. These flaws allowed the misuse and resale of appointments through automated bots, depriving citizens of their rights.
Al-Mohammad explained that the Ministry’s team has developed a secure and transparent system that ensures fair distribution of appointments and prevents manipulation.
The pilot version of the application will first be launched at the Syrian Embassy in Beirut, before being rolled out to all Syrian embassies and diplomatic missions worldwide.
He further noted that the platform will eventually expand to provide additional e-consular services, aiming to reduce the need for in-person visits and accelerate procedures through automation.
Al-Mohammad emphasized that the Ministry remains committed to advancing its digital services to offer fair, transparent, and efficient solutions for Syrians abroad.
