The rising cost of surgeries in Syria

ARK News.. According to local sources, the cost of surgical operations in Syria has risen significantly, raising the concern of patients and their families in light of the difficult economic conditions in the country.

Imad Sa’adeh, the head of the Damascus Medical Syndicate, told the Syrian regime's Tishreen newspaper that some operations cost more than 200 million Syrian pounds, especially brain aneurysms and brain deformities.

The head of the Damascus Doctors' Syndicate said that this increase “is not the responsibility of hospitals or patients, as the cost of operations in the past was much lower, as public hospitals bore the expenses of medical staff, examinations and operation fees, while the role of patients was limited to securing the supplies for operations.

The medical sector in Syria has deteriorated in recent years due to the regime government's failure to provide adequate support. The sector has witnessed severe neglect in equipping health centers and providing the necessary medical equipment to treat patients, which has led to a deterioration in the services provided in public hospitals.
