The Peace and Freedom Front with the Departure of Aktham Na’isa: The Syrians have lost the stature of an opposition who devoted most of his life to defending their rights
ARK News… Prominent Syrian human rights activist and dissident Aktham Naisa, on Saturday, February 5, 2022, passed away at the age of seventy years after a struggle with illness.
Aktham Na’isa is considered one of the most prominent workers in the Syrian human rights issue, as he participated in the establishment of the first human rights organizations in Syria (CDF) since the early eighties of the last century, and was a member of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network and the International Organization Against Torture.
The late had won the International Ludic Torero Prize for Human Rights in Brussels in 2004, and in 2005 he was awarded the Martin Annals Prize for Human Rights Defenders. Aktham Na’isa was arrested several times by the Syrian regime authorities, and in recent years contributed to the formation of the Syrian Democratic Committees Amarji from his exile in France.
The Peace and Freedom Front in Syria mourns the great late and the loud Syrian voice in defense of human rights Aktham Na’isa, it extends its heartfelt condolences from his honorable family, and from all the Syrians who lost his demise, an opposition group who devoted most of his life to defend their rights and to make their voice heard in international forums.
