Afrin… After nearly 70 days of arbitrary detention, Turkish-backed factions release academician

ARK News: Close sources stated that Turkish-backed factions released yesterday academician from Afrin, 70 days after his arrest, after appearing before the court more than once without clear charges against him.

The sources said that the academician Fahmi Abdo was arrested by military police from the Shara town in rural Afrin, where he refused to leave his town, holding on to his land and home. He has a doctorate in civil engineering.

In the same context the sources said that Turkish-backed factions released a woman who was among the 11 female prisoners who appeared in the video footage, while releasing them from Al-Hamza prison in Afrin and were transferred to Turkish-backed police prisons.

The sources confirm that the remaining women detainees are supposed to be released in the coming days, but their fate is unknown so far.

It is worth mentioning that since the invasion of the Turkish army and the armed factions and groups Afrin region, kidnappings campaigns against Kurdish civilians continue with false pretexts, in addition to cutting down olive and forests trees for selling firewood
