According to the website of the Kurdistan Regional Presidency, during the visit, Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, met with the Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, and Ibrahim Raisi, the President of the Republic, the Speaker of the Shura Council, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security, Iranian and Commander-in-Chief of the Revolutionary Guards of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Kurdistan Region Presidency website added that during his meetings and encounters with leaders and senior officials in Iran, Nechirvan Barzani discussed Iraq and the Kurdistan Region’s relations with Iran and areas of joint cooperation between the two sides, stressing the Kurdistan Region’s desire to strengthen and enhance relations.

In a press conference held yesterday, Tuesday, in Tehran, President Nechirvan Barzani spoke about the content of his meetings and meetings, indicating the beginning of a new phase in relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kurdistan Region.

The delegation accompanying the President of the Kurdistan Region to Iran consisted of the two Vice-Presidents, the Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Regional Government, the Head of the Presidential Office, and a number of Kurdistan Regional officials.
