On Tuesday, 7/5/2024), dozens of residents of Daraa participated in a popular demonstration in al-Karama Square in the city center, demanding freedom, the downfall of the regime, the immediate release of detainees, and the implementation of international resolution 2254.

The protesters carried banners with various phrases including "Daraa's heritage is patriotic and will only remain patriotic", "Our peace is our path to salvation", and "Down with the regime and its manufactured intelligence apparatus".

For nearly 7 months, the people of Daraa have been continuing their peaceful uprising, which erupted due to the deterioration of living and security conditions, to demand the downfall of the Syrian regime and the withdrawal of Iran from the country as an occupier, and the implementation of UN Resolution 2254, which guarantees achieving a peaceful transition of power through democratic elections supervised by the United Nations.
