Israeli bombing targets sites around Damascus

ARK News… Local sources, May 9, 2024 reported hearing explosions early this Thursday, May9th, from Israeli airstrikes targeting sites in the outskirts of Damascus.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated, "Israeli airstrikes hit early today the cultural Centre affiliated with the Iraqi al-Nujabaa Movement, loyal to Iran, in the Sayyida Zeinab area south of the capital Damascus, as well as a training camp belonging to the movement."

It added, "Explosions were heard in the Kiswa area, coinciding with the launch of Syrian regime air Defence missiles attempting to intercept the Israeli missiles without being able to thwart the attack. Ambulances headed towards the targeted areas, with reports of human casualties."

Highlighting that "Israeli targeting of militias is the third during the current month of May."

Meanwhile, the Syrian regime's news agency SANA reported that Israel targeted a building in the Damascus countryside from the direction of the Golan Heights, "and the regime's air defence intercepted and downed some of the missiles."

Since the beginning of 2024, the Syrian Observatory has counted 38 instances of Israel targeting Syrian territory, 26 of which were airstrikes and 12 ground attacks.

These strikes resulted in the injury and destruction of approximately 75 targets, including warehouses for weapons and ammunition, headquarters, centers, and vehicles."
