ARK News… On Tuesday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, the head of the Syrian Negotiating Committee, Dr. Badr Jamous, discussed with the Director of the Arab Affairs Department at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Nayef bin Abdullah al-Emadi, the latest developments in the political process in Syria.

Jamous appreciated the role of the State of Qatar in supporting the political solution in Syria through the implementation of international resolutions related to the Syrian issue, most notably the Geneva Statement and UN Security Council Resolution 2254, and its permanent support for the Syrian people and their humanitarian tragedy.

The Chairman of the Commission reviewed with the Qatari official the firm positions of the European countries towards the political solution and their refusal to normalize relations with the Syrian regime without serious and tangible steps in the political solution, and the movements taken by the Commission at the regional and Arab level in order to put an end to the regime’s evasion of the obligations imposed on it in the political solution.

For his part, the Qatari ambassador affirmed the steadfastness of his country's position towards the Syrian issue, its support for the legitimate demands of the Syrian people for freedom, justice and security, and Qatar's support for the full and strict implementation of International Resolution 2254 without procrastination or attempts to waste time because this is dangerous to the stability of Syria.
