12 Kurdish Afrinian villages celebrate the first day of Eid

ARK News: After the Turkish government stated that it had sought the Crescent it decided in the Kurdish region of Afrin and the areas under its control that the first day of Eid al-Fitr is Tuesday 4/6/2019.

While most of the Afrin people celebrated Eid, 12 Kurdish villages in the same area were adhering to the regime's decision that Tuesday is the month of Ramadan and Wednesday is the first day of Eid.

According to the information obtained by the ARK Media Foundation that 12 Kurdish villages in the south-east of Afrin are under the control of the Syrian regime and thus complied with the decisions of the Syrian regime and celebrated like other areas under the control of the regime that Wednesday as the first day of Eid.

The villages under the control of the Syrian regime are located in the area of Sherawa Mount Lelon in the southeast of Afrin, which are Kurdish villages administratively affiliated to Afrin: Soghanake - Bene - Aqibe - Zayrate – Kashtahar- Burj Qas - Kaluta - Bashamra – Gunde Mazin - Gunde Zouk - Mayase and all people of these villages speak Kurdish despite the villages are nearer of the center of the city of Aleppo, but their people are proud of their subordination to the region of Afrin and they rejected in the days of the Syrian regime subordination to the city of Aleppo.

The areas of the regime and the SDF celebrated on Wednesday the first days of Eid, while areas under the control of Turkish army and armed factions and groups celebrated on Tuesday as the first days of Eid al-Fitr.
According to activists and politicians that 12 villages of the Afrinian Kurdish remained under the control of the Syrian regime to protect the towns of Nubil and Zahra Shiite communities that the mentioned villages are in the border of these towns in order to protect the two towns from any threat by the armed factions in Afrin.

After the war in Afrin lasted 58 days, Turkey announced that it had taken over the entire area of Afrin. However, 12 Kurdish villages of Afrin remained under the control of the regime which led to division in the Afrin region itself.

Afrin is an area of 360 villages and six towns (Rajo, Jenderes, Shiye, Mabata, Bulbul, and Shara) as well as the center of Afrin and many of its neighborhoods.

Thus, Afrin city center and its six towns and 348 villages committed to the decision of Turkey and celebrated the holiday on Tuesday, while 12 villages committed to the decision of the Syrian regime celebrated on Wednesday
