Trump: Strait of Hormuz Is Currently “American Territory”

ARK News.. U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran is eager to reach an agreement with the United States, while claiming that Washington now has full control over its borders and the Strait of Hormuz.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, August 22, Trump said the Iranians “very much want a deal,” but are not prepared to accept what he described as the right agreement, adding that he still does not know “who I’m negotiating with.”

Trump claimed that Iran no longer has sufficient funds and is unable to pay the salaries of its police and military personnel. He further asserted that Tehran no longer has naval or air forces, radar systems or technological equipment, and has lost much of its manufacturing capacity.

The U.S. president also said he currently considers the Strait of Hormuz “American territory,” while predicting that oil prices would fall below their current levels once the confrontation with Iran ends.

Trump reiterated that Iran “will never have a nuclear weapon,” arguing that U.S. strikes against Tehran were necessary to eliminate its nuclear weapons program.

He concluded by warning that if Iran had obtained and used a nuclear weapon, it would have resulted in the “destruction of Israel and the Middle East.”
