EU Reaffirms Strong Commitment to the Stability and Security of the Kurdistan Region

The head of the European Union Liaison Office in the Kurdistan Region, Rado Botom, has reaffirmed the EU’s strong commitment to the stability and security of the Kurdistan Region, stressing that this is a key foundation for strengthening bilateral relations and building a stable, long-term partnership between the two sides.

Speaking to Kurdistan24, Botum said there was excellent coordination between the European Union and the Kurdistan Region at multiple levels, including efforts to strengthen security in the Region, constructive political dialogue, and continued coordination on economic and social issues.

He said EU support covers several vital sectors, including agriculture, climate-change initiatives, and strengthening civil society, adding that cooperation between the two sides was progressing well and expressing hope that it could be further expanded and developed.

Botum emphasized that the stability of the Kurdistan Region is of great importance to the European Union and represents a solid foundation for their joint cooperation.

“We are working to build a stable and long-term partnership, and our diplomatic discussions are dedicated to achieving this goal,” he said.

The EU official also expressed hope for further shared achievements, particularly in the political and security fields, saying these would contribute to creating a stronger and more resilient economic partnership between the two sides.
