ARK News… Due to the continued decline in the exchange rate of the Syrian pound against foreign and regional currencies, people in the cities and towns of Syrian Kurdistan are increasingly fearful of the deterioration of the situation, so they resort to converting what they own of the Syrian currency into gold or the US dollar.
In a special statement to Ark News website, a jeweler from Syrian Kurdistan said that the demand for buying gold and converting the Syrian currency to the US dollar is constantly rising, especially during the recent period due to the field military developments the region is witnessing, and the continuing collapse of the exchange rate of the Syrian pound against foreign currencies, especially U.S. dollar.
According to local sources, on Thursday, 1/2/2024, the exchange rate of one US dollar against the Syrian pound reached “15,200” Syrian pounds for sale, and “15,100” for purchase, and the price of gold reached “872,500” Syrian pounds per gram (21 karat).
