ARK News: Lebanese security forces arrested 34 Syrians in the Bekaa border area on the grounds of illegal entry into Lebanese territory.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces in Lebanon issued a communiqué last week saying that the Information Division had arrested 24 Syrians, including 16 children, for the crime of entering Lebanon "stealthily".

According to the communiqué, which was published by the National Information Agency, the detainees had entered illegally into the area of al-Suwairi al-Bekaa.

The Lebanese agency said that the detainees were handed over to the concerned authority, to carry out the legal requirement, based on the reference of the competent judiciary.

The entry with illegal way is for several reasons, including the escape of young Syrians from security prosecution and reserve military service, in light of their inability to enter through the legitimate crossings.

Lebanon is considered the second country to host Syrian refugees after Turkey, and the number of registered refugees with UNHCR is close to one million.

The procedure comes a month after the arrest of 31 Syrians who also entered the town of Suwairi al-Bekaa, including 10 women and 11 children, with the crime of entering the country surreptitiously.

the head of the Lebanese security forces, Abbas Ibrahim, announced on April 18, 2019, a decision for the Syrians to return to their home who enter Lebanon through smuggling.
