"Indirect" negotiations between QSD and Turkey

ARK News: A source close to a Syrian Kurdish, familiar with the leadership of YPG, on Sunday 12/5/2019, revealed that the United States of America mediated between Syria's Democratic (QSD) Forces and the Turkish government, pointing out that Washington is pressing its ally in Syria to show flexibility in the establishment of the safe area east of the Euphrates in Kurdistan of Syria.

The Source revealed for (BasNews): That "there are indirect contacts between the Democratic Syria Forces (QSD) and the Turkish government mediated by the US," adding "but has not yet reached real negotiations and direct between the two parties."

The source clarified that “there is an American-Turkish rapprochement on the draft safe area in the east of the Euphrates”, pointing out that «the US party is pressing on the body to show the necessary flexibility”

He added that “the Americans coordinate with Syria’s Democratic Forces in all its steps with the Turkish government on the safe area”, noting that "(QSD) is linking the establishment of the region of the fate of Afrin under the control of Turkey and the factions loyal to it."

Ilham Ahmad, the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) said on Saturday to BasNews: : That "the United States does not want a war in that region," adding that “our forces (QSD) in this safe area will not pose Turkey any problems, but on the contrary our presence in that region will benefit Turkey”.

"Since our presence on the border near Turkey, we have not caused any problems for Turkey, we have not attacked them, and we will not do it if they do not attack us," Ahmed clarified pointing out "if they do, we will respond to them under international laws."

the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) said, that “the issue of the establishment of the safe area is still under discussion and did not reach any result”, noting that it is "important that the establishment of this region is not to create problems but to achieve peace and stability.

PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan recently called on the leadership of Syria's Democratic Forces to make dialogue with Turkey to resolve issues between the two sides.
