ARK News.. Ukraine’s Embassy in Iraq on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, categorically denied reports claiming that Kyiv had deployed drones in the Kurdistan Region, describing the allegations as “entirely false and deliberately misleading.”

In an official statement, the Ukrainian Embassy in Iraq said, "Ukraine has not deployed any drones, military units belonging to its unmanned aerial systems forces, or any personnel or specialists in this field, either in the Kurdistan Region or anywhere else in Iraq.”

The diplomatic mission also stressed that Ukraine fully respects Iraq’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, expressing its appreciation for the friendly relations it maintains with the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.

The embassy concluded its statement by urging media outlets and news platforms to uphold accuracy and professionalism and refrain from circulating unverified claims and misleading information.

The Ukrainian embassy’s response followed a report broadcast on Tuesday by Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, which, citing an unidentified security source, alleged that Ukraine had deployed specialized units and thousands of drones inside the Kurdistan Region.
