CENTCOM: U.S. Forces Disable Commercial Vessel in the Gulf of Oman
ARK News.. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that U.S. forces disabled a Panama-flagged commercial vessel named MV Ocean Mollieca, also known as Arica Sun, in the Gulf of Oman after it attempted to breach the naval blockade imposed on Iran.
In an official statement on Sunday, October 11, 2026, CENTCOM said a U.S. military aircraft struck the vessel’s stern with a precision-guided weapon, completely disabling its propulsion system and engines.
CENTCOM confirmed that no crew members aboard the vessel were injured.
The command also said the ship had deliberately ignored repeated navigational warnings while attempting to cross international waters after departing from an Iranian port. It described the move as a clear defiance of the strict naval blockade enforced by the United States and its allies since July 14 against vessels traveling to or departing from Iranian ports.
