Millions Across the U.S. to Protest Donald Trump’s Policies
ARK News.. France Press Agency reported that Americans across several states are preparing for mass demonstrations against President Donald Trump’s policies and in defense of democracy, responding to a nationwide call launched by the “No Kings” movement opposing the White House leader.
According to AFP, millions of protesters are set to march on Saturday in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, and other states in what is expected to be the largest wave of protests against Trump since his return to power in January.
This will mark the second nationwide demonstration since mid-June, when the same coalition opposing the Republican billionaire organized similar rallies. Four months after the first event, organizers now expect “more than 2,600 protest gatherings involving millions of participants.”
During a virtual press conference on Thursday, Deirdre Schifeling, a leader of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), said:
“Millions of Americans will protest peacefully on Saturday to tell the Trump administration that we are a nation of equality and law, a country where the rules apply to everyone.”
She added: “In the face of abuses of power by Donald Trump and his allies, we will not be silenced.”
Leah Greenberg, co-founder of the activist group Indivisible, listed several alleged violations, stating: “They are deploying the National Guard to American cities. They are intimidating our immigrant friends and neighbors. They are targeting their political opponents through the courts.”
She continued: “This is the classic authoritarian playbook—threats, defamation, lies, and fear to force submission. But we will not be intimidated, deceived, or made to bow.”
Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, described the mobilization as a “moral duty to ensure democracy advances rather than retreats.”
In addition to major cities, rallies are planned nationwide and even across the border in Canada, including in Toronto, Vancouver, and Ottawa.
