Thomas Barrack Reveals Start of Syria–Israel Talks

ARK News.. The U.S. envoy to Syria has confirmed the launch of dialogue between Syria and Israel, while also stressing the need for a fundamental shift in Lebanon’s position.
Speaking at a press conference in Beirut on Monday, July 7, 2025, following meetings with the Lebanese president and other officials, U.S. envoy Thomas Barrack described his discussions with Lebanese leaders as “extremely important and remarkably successful.”
He expressed satisfaction with Lebanon’s response to U.S. demands for the disarmament of Hezbollah, saying that the Lebanese reply fell “within the scope” Washington is seeking to achieve.
