The Kurdistan Region Representative of ENKS commemorates the 11th anniversary of the Amouda massacre
ARK News… The Kurdistan Region Representative of the Kurdish National Council in Syria ENKS commemorated the 11th anniversary of the Amuda massacre in Syrian Kurdistan, which was committed by PYD militants.
The Kurdistan Region’s representation of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, on Thursday, June 27, 2024, held a political seminar on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the Amouda massacre in Syrian Kurdistan, which was committed by militants of the PYD administration.
Regarding the main goals of committing the massacre in the city of Amouda, Ibrahim Berro, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Kurdish National Council, said during the political symposium: “Since the 2004 uprising, the Syrian regime has placed the city of Amuda in Syrian Kurdistan among the cities that must be brutally suppressed, especially after it... The people of the city blew up the statue of Hafez al-Assad, the former head of the Syrian regime.
Biro added: "The city of Amouda has a political and social peculiarity that distinguishes it from other regions, as the people of the city of Amuda were and still are united. At the beginning of the Syrian revolution, all segments and political frameworks in the city went out with massive demonstrations against the Syrian regime and its cronies."
For her part, Asmahan Daoud, Deputy Head of the Kurdistan Region Representative to the Kurdish National Council in Syria, said that the Amuda massacre is not the first committed by PYD militants, and it will not be the last against the Kurdish people in Syrian Kurdistan.
Asmahan Dawoud added: “By simply apologizing, the people of the city of Amouda (the martyrs and the wounded) will not get their rights, and the Syrian Democratic Forces, even with their apologies, are not serious, as they violated their initiative and apology to the people of the city overnight.
The Deputy Head of the National Council Representative touched on the conditions for the families of the martyrs and the wounded to conclude a reconciliation (trying the political leaders of the PYD party at the time who made the decision and punishing them), stressing that the criminals and killers are still free without accountability and punishment while the families of the martyrs look to redress them and achieve justice.
For his part, Ismail Rashid, a member of the political committee of the Kurdistan Yakiti Party - Syria, told ARK News that the Syrian regime and the Democratic Union Party (PYD) hatched the conspiracy against the city of Amouda in Syrian Kurdistan, and the killers and perpetrators of the crime are still free.
Rashid stressed that the people of the city of Amouda did not back down from their demands and conditions in concluding reconciliation, most notably the trial and punishment of the political leaders of the PYD party at the time who made the decision.
