Statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government regarding the targeting of the Kurmor gas field

ARK News… The Kurdistan Regional Government, on Friday evening, issued a statement regarding the attack that targeted the Kurmor gas field in Chamchamal district in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, revealing that the death toll had risen to 4 people.

Kurdistan Regional Government spokesman Peshawa Hawramani said in a statement: “Great efforts have been made in the past to improve the energy sector and economic infrastructure in Iraq, especially in the Kurdistan Region. While the necessary steps are being taken to resolve the issues, the hands of saboteurs and evil people have returned to targeting the Kurmor gas field in a terrorist act that unfortunately led to the martyrdom of four employees of Yemeni nationality. The field was also subjected to severe damage, which will greatly affect the electrical power shortage.”

He continued: “Therefore, these repeated attacks must be stopped and we call for urgent coordination and assistance with the relevant agencies, and the federal government must find the perpetrators of this terrorist act, bring them to justice, and prevent the recurrence of these acts. We ask God to grant the martyrs a place in Paradise and a speedy recovery for the wounded.”
