US Defense reveals the outcome of its strikes against militias in Syria, Iraq and Yemen
ARK News... The Pentagon revealed the outcome of the strikes launched by its forces on pro-Iranian militias in Syria, Iraq and Yemen during the recent period.
Pentagon spokesman Pat Rader said in a press conference on Thursday that US Central Command (CENTCOM) "continues to evaluate the results of previous strikes it launched on February 2 in Iraq and Syria."
He added, "Initial indicators indicate that more than 40 militants linked to pro-Iranian groups were killed or injured in the American strikes that targeted 7 facilities, which included more than 85 targets."
Ryder said: "Since the first strikes by the international coalition on January 11, we have destroyed more than 100 missiles and launchers, in addition to many drones, radars and weapons storage areas" belonging to the Houthis.
Pointing out that "the strikes that occurred on February 3 destroyed or caused serious damage to 35 targets out of 36, including weapons storage places, radars, 3 helicopters, command and control centers, and missile systems."
On Friday evening, January 2, American forces targeted more than 85 Iranian militia sites in Syria and Iraq, as part of a response to the attack on the “Tower 22” base in Jordan on January 28, which resulted in the killing of 3 American soldiers.
The US Central Command announced the killing of the "commander of the Hezbollah Brigades" in a strike it carried out in the al-Mashtal area, east of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on February 7th.
A US Central Command statement said: “At 9:30 p.m. (Baghdad time) February 7, US Central Command (CENTCOM) forces conducted a unilateral strike in Iraq in response to attacks on US service members.”
He added that the strike resulted in "the killing of the commander of the Hezbollah Brigades, who was responsible for direct planning and participation in attacks on American forces in the region."
According to security sources, Abu Tahsin al-Hamidawi, a brigade commander in the Popular Mobilization Forces, and the two leaders of the Hezbollah Brigades (Abu Baqir al-Saadi and Arkan al-Alaywi) were killed in the American strike.
The sources indicated that "Abu Baqir Al-Saadi" is the support official and (missile engineer) in the Hezbollah Brigades militia, and "Arkan Al-Alawi" is an official in the Brigades' intelligence.
