ARK News… A young man from Afrin, Syrian Kurdistan, achieved a success story in addition to the many success stories that the people of this city have in the country and abroad.

Barzani Hakim, from the Shiye town of Afrin, resides in Germany. He recently obtained a master’s degree in civil engineering, “Master of Engineering in implementing and managing engineering projects.”

In a special statement to ARK News, Hakim spoke about the reasons for his migration to Germany, saying, “I grew up in the city of Jenderes and finished my high school studies at the beginning of the Syrian crisis. I started studying civil engineering in Syria, but as a result of the crisis and the negative effects of the war, I was forced to leave Syria for a foreign country at the end of the year 2015".

Regarding the steps he took to reach his goal in the diaspora, Barzani added, “The beginning of my arrival in Germany I faced several difficulties. My first goal was to learn the language as quickly as possible so that I could enroll in the university and reach my goal. I began learning the language and reached the level that is required to enter the university and registered at Aachen University.” “It is considered one of the best universities in the field of engineering in Germany.”

In addition to his university studies, Hakim was and still is working in a construction company in the field of implementing and managing sensitive engineering projects such as building bridges, water filtration plants, advanced power plants and related infrastructure, and he completed his studies with a “very good” grade.

Regarding his decision to study for a master’s degree, Hakim said, “My very good grades and the encouragement of my doctors at the university and my family, most notably my mother (who left us only physically), my father, and my brothers, were the reason for me making the decision to pursue graduate studies and begin the master’s degree.”

Barzani recently obtained a master’s degree in civil engineering, specializing in the implementation and management of engineering projects.

Hakim wished success to all students in their careers in all fields, and that the Syrian crisis would end as soon as possible, so that the suffering of the Syrian people would end and everyone would return to where they belong to advance Syria towards a better reality for future generations.

In conclusion, Barzani dedicated his success to his family and the olive trees of his city, which awaits its people, saying:
“I dedicate this success to you, mother, my first and eternal love
To my father, that great man, without whom I would not have reached where I am today
To my brother and sisters who beautify this life with their presence and have always been the support
To the olive trees that are waiting impatiently for us
To the one with the long shadow.

Barzani's mother, Azima Hassan, died after her house collapsed in Jenderes in the earthquake last February.
