Marco Rubio: Agreement with Iran Could Take Several Days

ARK News.. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the Strait of Hormuz “must be opened one way or another,” adding that negotiations on an agreement with Iran could take several days.
Speaking to reporters aboard his aircraft in the Indian city of Jaipur on Tuesday, 2026, Rubio said that negotiations over a deal with Iran could “take a few days,” dampening hopes for an imminent end to the conflict following U.S. strikes in southern Iran a day earlier, which Washington described as defensive operations.
Rubio added, "The straits—Hormuz—must be opened, and they will be opened one way or another… they should be opened.”
